With the recent property boom in Perth, it has many homeowners considering what to do. Sell, stay, subdivide?
However, property zoning is not as straight forward as many may think. Property zones vary between each council and state. So, it can be difficult to determine what options are available to you until you better understand the zoning for your property.
Well we have a little planning tool, that is going to make find out easier. PlanWA is a public mapping tool that provides access to planning, land and heritage data across Western Australia.
This is a great tool to help you understand how the land is used and what future development may be able to occur in an area and even better, it is very simple to use.
Below are some instructions to help you navigate the tool.
Launch the map using the link here: https://espatial.dplh.wa.gov.au/PlanWA/Index.html?viewer=PlanWA
You simply type in your property address and then click on the button which says, ‘See Land Enquiry Report’. It will tell you everything regarding zoning under both the Metropolitan Region Scheme, and Local Planning Scheme.
The data is updated weekly so you can be confident knowing you have the most up to date information on your land.
Can’t find your address?
The address search function requires the official Western Australian land parcel address as listed on the property Title. In some cases, the land parcel address may be different to the postal address.
If you get stuck, here is a short video on how to use the tool.
Better yet, contact with our experienced planning team and we can help you determine the feasibility of your project from the start.
